This isn't the first time Joe has spread the word about Partners for World Health. PWH, a nonprofit founded right here in Maine, is known around the world for collecting medical supplies that are no longer being used, repackaging them and shipping them to other countries where they provide basic medical care for underserved populations. In the more than 10 years of its operation, Partners for World Health has shipped over 1.5 million pounds of medical supplies, saving countless lives.
On Thursday, November 28th, PWH is partnering with Shipyard brewery to host the 38th Annual Portland Thanksgiving Day 4-Miler & Kids K. The two-loop 4-Miler course winds through Portland's historic Old Port and Downtown Districts. Proceeds will benefit Partners for World Health, Portland Trails, Live and Work in Maine, the St. Patrick’s Secondary School in Iten, Kenya and other area non profits.
If you're looking for a fun family activity on Thanksgiving Day, Joe encourages you to support a great cause and burn off that extra serving of stuffing by partaking in this great event. Please learn more about PMH here and more about the race here.
