One of our favorite nonprofits in Portland celebrates their new spring fundraiser tonight!  Show & Tell: A Literary Spectacular takes center stage at The State Theater and is the primary fundraiser for The Telling Room in support of their free writing programs for Maine youth. The 90-minute literary cabaret will showcase stories across mediums from a variety of storytellers including writer Andre Dubus III, singer-songwriter Josh Ritter, novelist Paula McLain, and local teen poet Zainab Almatwari. Humorist John Hodgman and hip-hop artist Jean Grae will emcee an evening that will raise awareness of young peoples’ need for confidence-building creative literacy instruction.
