Ever since his youngest son turned heads with his virtuosic steel drum playing in high school, Joe has been a big fan of this beautiful instrument, which originated in Trinidad and Tobago.
Whether you knew it or not, Maine is home to its very own steel drum band, and this Sunday, May 7th, Sister Steel Drum Band is hosting the 27th Annual New England Pan Festival. Held at Thompson's Point in Portland, this family friendly event is a full day of steel drum music and fun as bands from all around New England come together to showcase their work. No matter what age, the sounds of the Caribbean will be sure to have you dancing and smiling. This celebration of music and culture is a memorable day not to be missed.
