joe says "me eats"

One of Joe's favorite things about Portland is the city's rich and textured history, and that goes for all of Maine, which is why the Maine Historical Society is such a fascinating organization. A growing museum, incomparable library and statewide educational resource, MHS is located in the heart of Portland's downtown cultural district. Founded in 1822, the Maine Historical Society is the third oldest state historical society in the United States.

The Society's current exhibition is Maine Eats: The Food Revolution Starts Here. Using historical and contemporary stories of individual people and communities, Maine Eats: The Food Revolution Starts Here, tells the Maine food story. Throughout the interactive exhibition, visitors are invited to engage their senses and to think deeply about the past, present and future of Maine's relationship with food.
