Of the many things that make Maine special, one of Joe's favorites is our dazzling coastline. Like many Mainers, Joe grew up swimming and exploring the coast of our great state, and that's why he's happy to promote the Maine Island Trail Association. The Maine Island Trail is a water trail spanning over 200 islands and coastal sites along the 375 miles of the coast of Maine, and MITA's goal is to establish a model of thoughtful use and volunteer stewardship for the Maine islands that will assure their conservation in a natural state while providing an exceptional recreational asset that is maintained and cared for by the people who use it. On Thursday, April 30th, MITA will be hosting the 2015 Small Boaters' Film Fest and Auction, featuring short films and a silent auction to benefit MITA and the great work they do.
