Today Joe is spreading the word about a fun-loving community right here in Portland-- Portland Intown Contra Dance enriches lives and cultivates a vibrant community through dance. Their weekly Thursday-night folk dance event series at the State Street Church is delightful, welcoming to all humans, and a heck of a lot of fun. They teach and practice traditions, contribute to an evolving folk art form, and welcome new dancers to their community every week. No experience is required to participate!

The Portland Triple-Decker is the annual fundraiser event for Portland Intown Contra Dance at the State Street Church in Portland. To be held tomorrow, May 4th, it starts with an hour-long waltz lesson at 1:30PM, then continues with contra dancing with three bands and three callers until 11:00PM.
