joe says "mamm slam"

Joe was never much of a musician, but he can appreciate talent when he sees it. There's plenty of talent at Maine Academy of Modern Music, a local organization that aspires to provide Maine youth with the discipline, freedom, and guidance to appreciate the thrill of making contemporary music, instilling in them the power of self-expression. MAMM is dedicated to building leadership through the musical arts.

The good folks over at MAMM hope that you can join them for the MAMM SLAM: Maine's High School Rock-off. The MAMM SLAM is a statewide competition designed to provide young, career-minded musicians with an educational platform through which to gain performance and business experience, professional acumen, industry exposure, and promotional and career networking opportunities.

The competition is open to bands AND solo artists and the registration deadline is March 9th. The Preliminary Round will be held on April 7th at Bayside Bowl and the Finals will be held at Empire on May 12th. Joe wishes good luck to everyone who participates, and offers his thanks to MAMM for hosting such a great event.

Joe says Rock on, Portland!
